Shot blasting by CrNi media

Shot blasting means surface treatment prior to its finishing. Shot blasting mechanically removes small excesses of material, corrosion and other impurities thus creating also a suitable surface for anchoring of coating systems. The shot blasting has a decisive influence on adherence of the protective layer and indirectly on its lifetime.

Shot blasting influences the surface quality in the following way:

• mechanical removal of the top layer of material that is contaminated, affected by corrosion
• surface roughing – it creates so called anchoring profile that prevents surface treatments such as coating from peel-off.
